Bob Weir and Wolf Bros at Orpheum Theatre

Bob Weir is known for being a founding member of the Grateful Dead. The legendary rock band from Palo Alto, California, was one of its generation's most influential eclectic acts. The band became the pioneer for the term “jam band,” and their wide range of music elements includes country, folk, bluegrass, jazz, reggae, psychedelic, and many more. Grateful Dead has been known for its lengthy segues and improvisations. Moreover, the members are also excellent musicians. Bob Weir created Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreuztman, and Ron McKernan.

In 1994, Bob Weir and the rest of the Grateful Dead were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2007, they received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. After Garcia’s untimely passing, the band disbanded, and Weir founded several side projects, including Kingfish, Bobby and the Midnites, Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman, Ratdog, and the Dead & Company. He also released several solo highly-acclaimed solo albums under Bob Weir and Wolf Bros.

In 1972, he dropped his solo debut effort, Ace. The album featured Grateful Dead members as a backing band and received wide critical acclaim from fans and critics. His latest effort, Blue Mountain, was released in 2016 and peaked at number 14 on the Billboard 200. The album featured performances from several notable musicians, including Sam Cohen from the Apollo Sunshine, acclaimed indie rocker Aaron Dessner, and many more.

For his tour with Wolf Bros, Bob Weir will be joined by prolific musicians Don Was, Jay Lane, and Jeff Chimenti.
