After showings in the world’s most famous theaters including Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be performing for a limited season this spring in Orpheum Theatre of Omaha, an equally renowned entertainment venue acclaimed for its best amenities fit to host world-class productions and shows.
The production honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, written and scored by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, based off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It retells the real life of Hamilton himself in a ‘hipper’ manner, staying close to the facts behind Hamilton's life but with and musical styles that makes this production highly entertaining. Hamilton actually began off Broadway in mid 2015 and was rapidly met with incredible reviews from its opening night. As well as plenty of press articles and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as Hamilton’s performance with its incredible cast including the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda himself in the lead role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, wowed audiences in its premiere with a memorable opening night. The show went on over the next 10 years to take home eleven Tony Awards from sixteen nominations, plus Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.
Ever since its debut, Hamilton has toured to be performed in several venues across the world, where it has been receiving continuously great reviews. BroadwayWorld calls Hamilton “the hottest ticket in town”, as it lends itself to a wider range in audience because of being accessible to both the older generations who came for the history behind the Musical, and the younger generations that are drawn to the exciting and innovative concept behind Hamilton. In London’s West End, TimeOut had concerns over the Musical being overblown, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. Additionally, recently the touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes Hamilton as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they expanded.
Newspaper critics and audiences alike agree that the Musical is a must-attend this spring as it continues its runs all over America.
