What happens when you witness a mob hit in 1930’s Chicago? You hide! Musicians Joe and Jerry accidentally got themselves in a predicament where they would eventually become the target of a local mob. Desperate to hide, Joe and Jerry join an all female band as Josephine and Daphne. A hilarious epic by Matthew Lopez and Amber Ruffin, the musical is a musical adaptation of the iconic American crime comedy film of the same title featuring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. It pretty much took over six decades for this story to hit Broadway, but nevertheless playwrights Lopez and Ruffin make the premise a highly relevant story for the modern age. This comedy driven production is led by Tony Award winning director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw with astounding music by multi award-winning composer Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Shaiman and the esteemed Scott Whitmann.

Producers brought in the most talented creative team including multi award-winning designers Scott Pask on scenic, Mary-Mitchell Campbell on music supervision, Gregg Barnes on costume, T Natasha Katz on lighting, Brian Ronan on sound, Josh Marquette on hair, and Milagros Medina Cerdeira on makeup. Thanks to the brilliant work of these individuals, Some Like It Hot became THE show to watch on Broadway in 2022. Over in Time Out, theater critic Adam Feldman said, “Some Like It Hot is a well-aimed throwback: a jubilant, old fangled, crowd-pleasing musical comedy.” The review continued to laud Some Like It Hot’s “abundant production” and “canny attention to modern sensibilities.” Lastly, the musical was an absolute delight for the folks over at the Wallstreet Journal, “Racing to its farcical climax, the new musical ‘Some Like It Hot’ works up a sizzling head of steam.” the review added that the experience of seeing all the dizzying moments of gangsters and primary characters running around is  “pure pleasure.”
