Alexander Hamilton was most known for his role as the first Secretary of the Treasury in the United States and wrote the Federalist Papers. He unfortunately died from a gunshot wound he sustained in a duel with the then Vice President, Aaron Burr. What a time to be alive then, aye?!
The chaotic story is what inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to create this musical masterpiece. From its debut in 2015, Hamilton has been universally acclaimed.
Hamilton has a holy 16 Tony Awards nominations and went on to win 11 of them, including Best Musical. This epic musical won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama.
Perhaps the greatest part of the Hamilton experience is its ethnically diverse cast. The musical casts racial minorities to play the original Founding Fathers. Lin-Maniel says Hamilton is about "America then, told by USA now." Currently, Hamilton on tour features Trey Curtis as Alexander Hamilton, Bryson Bruce as Thomas Jefferson, Jared Dixon as Aaron Burr, and many more talented ethnic actors.
“Hamilton was a musically life changing experience,” said a reviewer via Reddit.
