Once upon a time, Opera concerts were common occurrences in theaters across the country. That has changed quite a bit over the last few years if not decades. This scarcity makes a premium Opera night arguably a much more important event today. Due to all of this, you won’t want to miss Opera Omaha and The English Concert’s Giulio Cesare at Orpheum Theater on Thursday, May 1st, 2025. The live orchestra will be on stage with the actors as they sing and perform scenes from the life of the famed Roman emperor and his mistress, the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra.
It’s an event that will allow audience members to appreciate the talents of the musicians and performers. She’s been a prominent face in the opera world for almost a decade now. In 2017, she won an award given out by the BBC that recognized her as one of the best upcoming singers of her generation. Today, she’s been around the block with multiple companies showcasing her talents. Watching her take on this iconic role live in Omaha promises to be a great experience.
Conductor Harry Bicket will be in charge of the orchestra on May 1st. If you’re submerged in the world of opera, these are all names that are going to sound familiar.
