Orpheum Theatre
It's not every day that a Tony Winning musical takes the stage at the Orpheum Theatre! Better yet, this timeless story is getting an upgrade for this US Tour. The Outsiders are coming back to theaters across the country and one of their stops is here in Omaha on Sunday, September 28th.
This is a story that warms the hearts of theater enthusiasts everywhere. While it's still set in the 1960s, the plot features elements that people from rural America can relate to. It's no surprise then that the production team has decided to make a stop in Omaha on this US tour.
What's perhaps more surprising is that the play didn't spend more years on Broadway before hitting the road. That's actually to the benefit of local fans. There's a good chance that you haven't seen this version of The Outsiders live. That's why you don't want to miss this Sunday, September 28th show. Click the get tickets button to save your seats.

The first thing that theater goers need to be aware of is that many of the actors who made this into the best show on Broadway are reprising their roles for this tour. All signs point to the fact that Brody Grant will be taking the stage as Ponyboy Curtis. He's been with the production in the lead role since they were in San Diego in 2023. That's where this new version of the classic was born. Truth be told, at this point, it's hard to separate Brody from Ponyboy; they are one and the same. When you've got such a strong lead, it certainly makes the rest of the show go.
You could make the argument that designing the stage and the costumes for a 1960s story like this one isn't as challenging as it is for other productions. Think of plays that take place in fantasy lands. However, in this version of The Outsiders, the crew has done an amazing job of creating the world without overdoing it. This rather minimalistic approach to stage design is going to come in handy for the US tour. You won't need a ton of props to make sure that the audience feels like they're back in 1960s Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Broadway rules apply here, don't overthink the situation. You're looking for a seat toward the middle of the theater. If you can find one that's quite a few rows back from the main stage, you're golden. That's the area where theater experts always say that you should sit. The reason they say this is because these spots grant you a broader view of the show. With a musical like The Outsiders, that's exactly what you're looking for!
